The answer is a big ‘NO’. You can easily get a good receiver under $2000, or more specifically between $500 to $2000. Is it unbelievable? I hope not, but if you think so then read the article below to know about some budget-friendly and good quality A/V receivers.

Buying Guide/ things to consider for buying home theater and music high-end receiver)

There are a good number of things one should consider before buying any gadget. However I believe, what things you should check and what not necessary to check totally depends on you. Yet, few basic elements exist which you must need to consider in order to buy a good A/V receiver and this segment is totally based on it. So without further ado lets have a look at this mini buying guide:

Price:

What is your budget? Isn’t budget an important thing to consider? Yes, it is! Specific features come with a specific price range.

Therefore, you need to set a budget so that you can narrow your choices quickly.

Note that, for some buyers, budget is not a problem, so for them, it is not a factor to consider.

Channels:

Here comes the important factor about any receiver; the number of channels. The minimum number of channels is in any speaker is 5.1 and the maximum 13.2. You have to decide how many speakers or surround speakers you want for your receiver.

It is not necessary to have surround sound, so if you prefer no surround sound, you can set up any 2.1 or a 3.1 system.

Connections:

Connections include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. If you want to connect external devices to your receiver, this feature is a must! So while buying

make sure that the receiver has all the essential connections for everything you may need.

Features:

As a buyer, it would have been my topmost priority to consider. Features of any receiver 4K or 8K support, Dolby Atmos, HDR support, Zone playback in multiple, different rooms, etc.

Before making a purchase you need to be very clear about the features you want, and then find a receiver accordingly that ticks the boxes you have selected. These will also save you from paying extra $ for the features you don’t want or need.

Network Connections:

This deals with your choice of having either an Ethernet connection or a local network connection for streaming the radio, internet.

So while buying make sure that the receiver has all the essential connections for everything you may need.

Power:

Power denotes how loud the sound you want in your room. In comparison with other features, power output doesn’t make much difference. But, if you prefer loud music and want your speakers to drive harder, then more power is a must! So, buy according to it.

Speakers:

Another basic thing to consider while buying any receiver is the speaker. Many buyer’s main concern is whether the receiver can drive the speakers properly or not. Is it your concern as well?

But there is nothing to worry much about in this regard as the AV receivers support a vast range or amount of speakers. In order to get an awesome performance you just need to ensure maximum impedance and power of the speakers. See, power is required for this as well. (!)

All the above-mentioned specifications are very basic in any receiver, so check them while buying to get a good one within your requirements.
